Psychological Assessments

with Dr. Kristin Marvin, Clinical Psychologist

Types of Assessments Offered

Dr. Marvin provides comprehensive psychological assessments for:

  • NDIS & ECEI Access
    For individuals (including children aged 3–9) seeking initial access to the NDIS or early intervention supports.

  • NDIS Participants
    For plan reviews (scheduled or unscheduled), change of situation reports, or diagnosis clarification.

  • School Use
    Diagnostic reports to support access to learning adjustments, school-based supports, and Individual Learning Plans.

  • Personal Use
    Assessments for personal understanding, diagnosis, or planning of future treatment and support needs.

Conditions Diagnosed

Dr. Marvin can provide formal diagnosis for:

  • Autism Spectrum Disorder

  • ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder)

  • Anxiety Disorders

  • Depressive Disorders

  • PTSD and Complex PTSD

  • Intellectual Disorders (verbal and nonverbal)

  • Borderline Personality Disorder

Please note: Clinical Psychologists do not prescribe medication.

Wait Times & Availability

  • Assessment appointments: typically available within 7–14 business days

  • Report turnaround time: approximately 3–7 business days after assessment

  • Total timeline: From referral to completed report is generally 1–3 weeks

Dr. Marvin focuses exclusively on assessments (not long-term therapy), which allows for faster availability.

The Assessment Process

  1. Contact
    Email admin@comprehensivepsychologicalservices.com.au or call 0447 188 425 to enquire about availability in South East Queensland. Wait times may vary depending on location.

  2. Intake
    You'll receive an intake form to complete. Telehealth assessments may be an option—please enquire.

  3. Assessment Appointment
    The in-person or telehealth session takes approximately 2–3 hours, including a clinical interview and structured assessments. Some questionnaires may be sent to you beforehand.

  4. Report Writing
    Dr. Marvin scores and interprets the assessments, reviews additional documents, and prepares a detailed report. A draft is sent to you for review before finalisation.

  5. Final Report
    Once approved, a signed PDF copy is provided for your use (e.g., for NDIS, school, or personal purposes).

Fees & Payment

  • Private pay rate: $225/hour

  • Total time estimate: 5–14 hours (varies depending on referral complexity, history, and documentation)

  • Medicare rebate: Not currently available

  • Invoicing: Weekly

  • Payment plans: Available on request

The Psychologist

Kristin is a Clinical Psychologist with over 25 years of experience in mental health, including 15+ years as a registered Clinical Psychologist in both the USA and Australia. Since 2020, she has also worked as a Specialist Support Coordinator under the NDIS, with extensive expertise in assessments for the NDIA and complex mental health presentations.

She holds a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and a Master’s in Forensic Psychology, both from the USA. Kristin has worked across a wide range of settings, including private practice, schools, prisons, universities, and corporate mental health (EAP). She has also lectured at university level and presented publicly on mental health topics.

Kristin is passionate about supporting individuals living with chronic pain, disability (physical, intellectual, or psychosocial), anxiety, depression, terminal illness, and caregiver fatigue.

After growing up in the USA, Kristin returned to Australia in 2020 and brings a wealth of international experience to her practice.

Outside of work, she enjoys running, teaching and attending dance fitness classes, gardening, road trips, world travel (49 countries and counting!), cooking, and spending quality time with family and friends.

In 2022 she completed her first book, The Reluctant Caregiver: How to Survive the Rollercoaster Called End-of-Life Care of a Family Member, for those looking after the terminally ill. It can be found on Amazon. Link below
